“Getting to know each other.”

Originally tagged on Facebook by a coworker of mine, Elijah “Chewie” Colpitts.

If you’ve been tagged or you are reading this, you have the honor of copying all these goofy questions, writing your own response, and tagging 25 other victims. You have to tag me so really you just need 24 more people. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you – but not in a creepy stalker kind of way.

To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your title as “Getting to know each other!”, tag 25 people including me (tagging is done in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
I’ve been waking up throughout the night a lot since I’ve been up at Montecito, but the “main wakeup” was sometime around 6:00.

2. How do you like your steak?
Medium. In a perfect world though, it will come medium but beginning to lean toward medium-rare.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
The Hangover.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
The Venture Brothers.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Right now, I think I have to go with Manhattan.

6. What did you have for breakfast?
This morning I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, a biscuit with country gravy, bacon, and milk.

7. What is your favorite cuisine?
Indian food is amazing, but it’s really hard to pick.

8. What foods do you dislike?
Mint, squash, zucchini, cucumber, cauliflower, and pickles come to mind. I’m also a little bit bored of Mexican food, but I can still eat it and enjoy it.

9. Favorite Place to Eat?
For brunch, Dotti’s True Blue Café in San Francisco is the best. For dinner, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Yummy Sushi, The Field, and The Fish Company (all in San Diego) are all contenders.

10. Favorite dressing?
Assuming this question is about salad dressing, I go for Italian dressing most of the time, but ranch can be good too for sure.

11.What kind of vehicle do you drive?
I would much rather take the subway or a bus, but when I’m home and have to drive somewhere, I typically drive my family’s used-but-loved Mercedes E-Class.

12. What are your favorite clothes?
A black collared shirt with epaulets and rolled up sleeves along with a nice pair of slacks and a leather belt. Professional but relaxed, slightly edgy but socially comfortable, interesting but understated, and sophisticated but casual. I’m a graphic designer, and I like that I look like one.

13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?
Sweden, Germany, or Japan.

14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?
There is work to be done, and since the ideal is to fill the cup, we’ll talk about the status relative to it’s completion. Half full.

15. Where would you want to retire?
I want to travel the world when I retire, hopefully not for the first time.

16. Favorite time of day?
The period of time from right before dinner until sleep.

17. Where were you born?
Oceanside, CA.

18. What is your favorite sport to watch?
Good baseball or football.

19. Who do you think will not tag you back?
The busy.

20. Person you expect to tag you back first?
The idle.

21. Who are you most curious about their responses to this?
My friends back home since I miss them and all their shenanigans. Bawww.

22. Bird watcher?
Nope.

23. Are you a morning person or a night person
I suppose I’m more of a night person, but to be honest, I’m functional when I wake up as long as I get breakfast.

24. Do you have any pets?
I have a dog back home.

25. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share?
I needed a new pair of running shoes, and I just ordered this super interesting pair that I’ve had my eyes on (but in black). I would definitely not call myself a shoe collector or anything like that, but when I do buy shoes, I’m willing to spend a bit of my money on less common types that are both interesting and good for me.

26. What did you want to be when you were little?
A novelist, a jet pilot, an astronaut, a priest, a journalist, a politician, a lawyer, a federal judge, and then finally a graphic artist.

27. What is your best childhood memory?
I’m going to go with winning a gold medal at a big regional karate tournament when I was about 11 or 12.

I like both, but I like dogs more.

29. Are you married?
No.

30. Always wear your seat belt?
Absolutely.

31. Been in a car accident?
Nah. I accidentally backed up into another car at like 1 mph once and it felt like a big deal at the time, but since nobody else ever even cared a little bit since there wasn’t even any damage, I’ve come to feel the same way. I guess I just made a mountain out of a molehill in my mind. Sometimes I need to just relax about things.

32. Any pet peeves?
When people talk on the cell phone when they are with other people.

33. Favorite Pizza Toppings?
Feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, and basil.

Sunflowers. You love them, I love them, everybody loves them.

35. Favorite ice cream?
Super ultra quadruple double fudge brownie chunk with chocolate chips and Heath bars mixed in.

36. Favorite fast food restaurant?
In-N-Out.

37. How many times did you fail your driver’s test?

Zero.

38. From whom did you get your last email?
Heh, OkCupid. Yes, I have a profile on a dating site. A friend of mine originally had me go on there just to take a quiz, but like two years later, I came back because that’s what you do when you’re both a geek and a romantic like me.

39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
Amazon because they have nearly everything humans have ever made, but Newegg and Kayak are also tempting choices.

40. Do anything spontaneous lately?
Hmm. Not really. Heh, I almost did, but at the last second I decided the other person would probably just be unamused and uncomfortable, so I restrained myself.

41. Like your job?
I love my jobs (archery director and freelance designer on the side).

42. Broccoli?
Sure, as long as it’s warm and moist.

Kong, Curly Sue, Grizz, and Daniel the Kilt.

Silence since people are resting in my cabin.

I always come back to orange because it reminds me of Shaolin monks, who are the epitome of awesome.

None.

48. How many are you tagging for this quiz?
Meh, we’ll see.

49. What time did you finish this quiz?
6:12 pm.

50. Coffee Drinker?
Not really.
